OQ manages projects worth RO 800 million in Musandam

MUSCAT: The number of projects invested in and managed by OQ Group in the energy sector in the Governorate of Musandam is 3 projects. These include the Musandam gas processing plant, the management of offshore fields in Block 8 concession area, in addition to the Musandam power generation station, with a total value of approximately RO 800 million.

OQ Group owns the Musandam gas processing and product plant in Block 8 concession area, where gas is used to generate energy for the governorate. OQ also manages and operates offshore fields in the concession area of Block 8, owned by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals.

OQ is committed to improving work efficiency to increase production and reduce operating costs in Block 8 concession area since it started managing oil and gas production operations in January 2019, which includes two offshore fields, Bakha and West Bakha, which produce oil and gas to supply the Musandam power station.

The group also manages and operates the Musandam power generation station, with a production capacity of about 120 megawatts per hour, supplying the governorate with electrical power.

On the other hand, OQ , in cooperation with the Office of the Governor of Musandam, implements several social investment projects in the governorate since 2020, with an estimated value of about RO 4 million. These projects focus on urban, environmental, and tourism aspects as a realisation of its social responsibility and service to local communities.

OQ collaborates with relevant government entities in the governorate to implement projects including the Dibba Archaeological Centre project in cooperation with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, the Dibba waterfront project, the Bassa Beach project with the Omran Group, the Madha state park development project, and the waterfront development project in Bukha, the Musandam Science and Innovation Centre with the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, a group of oil and gas companies operating in the Sultanate of Oman, and Oman Sail. — ONA
