Welcome Message from the Conference Chair

Dear Industry Colleagues,

On behalf of the Executive and Programme Committees, I am pleased to welcome you to the SPE Conference at the Oman Petroleum & Energy Show which will be held in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman from 22–24 April 2024 at the landmark Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The theme of the conference is, ‘Affordable, Sustainable, and Clean Energy’, where a diverse mix of professionals and decision-makers from around the globe will meet to weigh in with their expert opinions on future advances, challenges, and trends in the oil and gas industry.

The industry has demonstrated resilience to the repeated cycles of low oil prices, geopolitical shifts, and the climate crisis by transforming itself efficiently and innovatively in addressing related challenges to grow sustainably. In the midst of uncertainties, there is an increased focus on climate change, sustainability, and the reassessment of investment priorities in energy markets. The global challenge is to ensure access to affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy while paving the way for a low-carbon future. However, it is not clear how such repeated transformation cycles will shape the future of the industry.

Building on the success of the first edition of OPES, the 2024 conference will focus on EOR/IOR, Gas Development, Digital Transformation, Offshore Development as well as Energy Transition and Sustainability. Thus, providing ample opportunities to share experiences, explore new technologies, and test innovative methodologies.

It is time to discover and share. I look forward to seeing you in Muscat.

Sincerely,

Saleh Al Anboori
