Voltamp Energy SAOG plans to invest $52 M (RO 20 Million) in a power transformer manufacturing facility in Sohar Freezone. The proposed plant will primarily serve international export markets and have a total production capacity of 5,000 MVA, according to the company.
In a regulatory filing to the Muscat Stock Exchange, Voltamp said it had signed a land lease agreement for the manufacturing complex. The project will be implemented through its wholly owned subsidiary, Voltamp International LLC – Sohar Free Zone, established following a board resolution on 5 August 2026.
The investment is planned over five years, with financing arranged through local banking institutions. Funds will be disbursed in phases linked to project milestones.
Phase 1 is scheduled for completion in 2027. The facility will manufacture power transformers tailored to international export requirements, expanding Voltamp’s manufacturing footprint and supporting its overseas market strategy.
