- What inspired you to be part of the OPES 2025 journey as a Brand Ambassador?
OPES is one of the largest and most prestigious energy events in Oman. Being a Brand Ambassador is not only a great honour, but also a unique opportunity to represent PTTEP, to connect with industry peers, and contribute to a larger conversation on shaping the future of energy in the region
- Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you got involved in the energy sector?
Since childhood, I’ve always had a love for mathematics, physics, and I have always had a fascination with discovering new cultures and places. A career in the energy sector has allowed me to combine all three of these passions. This journey has taken me from Thailand to France, then to Algeria, back to the Gulf of Thailand, and now to this beautiful country—Oman. It’s been an incredible experience both professionally and personally.
- What does energy mean to you personally—beyond the technical definition?
To me, energy is the foundation of modern life. Without it, we would not have many of the conveniences that are a part of modern life. Energy is a vital component in driving the economy, it powers a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing, transportation, telecommunications, healthcare, and education – and supports the daily lives of people.
Being part of the energy sector means playing a small but important role in supporting and building a better world for future generations.
- How is Oman uniquely positioned in the global energy landscape?
Oman holds a unique strategic position in the global energy landscape. Its location along key international shipping routes, combined with political stability and a strong commitment to innovation, makes it an attractive hub for international energy companies. On top of that, the warmth and hospitality of the Omani people create a welcoming environment for collaboration and long-term partnerships.
- How do you plan to use your platform as a Brand Ambassador to engage the wider community?
As a Brand Ambassador, I hope to serve as a bridge—connecting professionals across the sector, inspiring younger generations, and representing the values and vision of my organization. It's a chance to give back, by sharing experiences and fostering meaningful conversations.
- How can industry leaders balance sustainability with profitability?
By embracing innovation, investing in technologies like Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), and aligning business strategies with global sustainability goals. Companies that commit to sustainable development will not only attract investment but also gain long-term resilience in increasingly regulated markets.
- What advice would you give to young professionals entering the oil and gas or energy space?
Stay open-minded and be ready to embrace change. The energy sector is evolving rapidly with digitalization, decarbonization, and new technologies. Adaptability and continuous learning are key to building a successful career.
- In one word, how would you describe the future of energy in the region?
Transformative.
While oil and gas will continue to play a vital role, we’re seeing a strong push toward other forms of energy, energy efficiency, and carbon management. Countries like Oman are investing in green hydrogen, solar power, and carbon capture technologies, signalling a transformation not just in how energy is produced, but how it’s consumed and managed.
