n the oil and gas industry, flowlines are lines of different diameters that connect a single wellhead to a manifold or process equipment. In a larger well field, multiple flowlines may connect individual wells to a manifold. Flowlines on land may be buried or above ground on the surface of the land. Gathering lines are similar to flowlines but collect the hydrocarbons flowing from multiple flowlines.
Flowlines are located at the well site tied to a specific well. It may be a metallic pipe like Long Length Reinforced Thermo Plastic (LLRTP). Most flowlines run for kilometers in onshore applications.
Flowlines operate as one component of a pumping system. Once a well is drilled, it has to be hooked up to the nearest manifold valve station, or gathering station as the case may. Then only producing fluids can flow to the adjoining facility for oil/water/gas stream separation as appropriate.
The Off-plot delivery scope typically covers the following type of activities • Design and construction of Flowline / Pipeline (new or replacement) • Design and construction of well hook-ups • Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation tie-ins • Design and construction of MSV and manifolds
